Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) in Denpasar is Bali's main gateway. Flight time is approximately 8–9 hours direct or 10–12 hours with one stop via Kuala Lumpur or Singapore.
The best time to visit Bali is during the dry season from April to October, when you can expect sunny skies, lower humidity, and ideal conditions for beach activities and temple visits. July–August is peak tourist season. The wet season (November–March) brings afternoon showers but also lush green landscapes, fewer crowds, and lower prices.
Bali is generally safe for tourists. No mandatory vaccinations are required for Indian travelers, but Hepatitis A, Typhoid, and Tetanus are recommended. Tap water is not safe to drink — always use bottled water. Use reef-safe sunscreen and stay hydrated. For emergencies: Police 110, Ambulance 118, Tourist Police +62-361-224111. Travel insurance is strongly recommended.
The currency is the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). 1 INR is approximately 185–195 IDR. Credit cards are accepted at hotels, restaurants, and larger shops, but carry cash for local markets, warungs (small eateries), and temples. ATMs are widely available in tourist areas. Money changers are common — use authorized ones in malls or banks for the best rates.
Bali is deeply rooted in Hindu culture. Dress modestly when visiting temples — sarongs and sashes are required (often available for rent at entrance). Remove shoes before entering sacred spaces. Offerings (canang sari) are placed on sidewalks everywhere — take care not to step on them. Tipping is appreciated but not mandatory; 5–10% at restaurants is generous. Bargaining is expected at markets.
