About Oman

Arabia's Hidden Gem

Oman is a land of dramatic contrasts — rugged mountain ranges give way to turquoise wadis, vast desert dunes stretch to the horizon, and ancient forts stand sentinel over bustling modern cities. It's the Middle East at its most authentic and welcoming.

The capital Muscat charms visitors with its whitewashed buildings, the magnificent Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, and the Royal Opera House. Beyond the city, the Al Hajar Mountains offer spectacular hiking, while Wahiba Sands delivers unforgettable desert camping under star-filled skies.

With pristine beaches along the Musandam Peninsula, dolphin watching in the Arabian Sea, and some of the warmest hospitality in the region, Oman is the perfect alternative for travelers seeking a more authentic Arabian experience away from the crowds.

Practical Info

Everything You Need to Know

Essential travel information for your Oman trip. From visas to local customs — we've got you covered.

Plan Your Trip

Indian passport holders need an eVisa to enter Oman, which can be applied for online through the Royal Oman Police portal. Tourist visas are available for 10 days or 30 days. Processing takes 1–3 working days. We handle the complete visa application process for you.

Muscat International Airport (MCT) has direct flights from Mumbai, Delhi, Kochi, Hyderabad, and Chennai. Oman Air, Air India Express, and IndiGo operate regular flights with a flight time of 3–4 hours. Salalah Airport (SLL) also has select flights from India during the Khareef season.

October to March offers the most pleasant weather (20–30°C) for sightseeing and outdoor activities. The Khareef season (June–September) transforms Salalah into a green paradise with misty mountains — a unique experience. Summers in Muscat are very hot (40°C+) but offer lower hotel rates.

Oman is one of the safest countries in the Middle East with extremely low crime rates. No special vaccinations are required. Healthcare facilities are modern and well-equipped. Drink bottled water outside cities. Travel insurance is recommended. Emergency: Police 9999, Ambulance 9999.

The currency is the Omani Rial (OMR), one of the strongest currencies in the world. 1 OMR ≈ ₹215–220. Cards are widely accepted in cities. Carry cash for souks, smaller towns, and desert camps. ATMs are available in major areas. Currency exchange at the airport and banks.

Oman is conservative and traditional. Dress modestly in public — cover shoulders and knees. Remove shoes when entering mosques and homes. Ask permission before photographing locals. Alcohol is available only at licensed hotels. Omanis are exceptionally hospitable — a warm smile goes a long way. Tipping 10% is appreciated.
