Everything You Need to Know
Essential travel information to help you plan the perfect Singapore trip. From visas to local customs — we've got you covered.
Plan Your TripIndian passport holders can apply for a Singapore eVisa (Electronic Travel Authorisation) online. The process is straightforward — submit your passport copy, photo, and travel itinerary. We handle the entire visa process for you. Processing typically takes 3–5 working days, and the eVisa is free of charge. Ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry.
Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) is consistently rated the world's best airport. Direct flights operate from major Indian cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, and Kolkata. Flight time is approximately 5–6 hours. Singapore Airlines, Air India, IndiGo, and Scoot offer frequent flights with competitive fares. Changi Airport itself is a destination — explore the Jewel's Rain Vortex waterfall during your transit.
Singapore enjoys a tropical climate year-round, but the driest and most comfortable months are February through April. December–January sees more rainfall but also hosts the Great Singapore Sale and festive celebrations. June is ideal for families during school holidays. The average temperature stays between 25–31°C throughout the year, so light, breathable clothing is recommended.
Singapore is one of the safest countries in the world with extremely low crime rates and strict law enforcement. No special vaccinations are required for Indian travelers. Tap water is safe to drink everywhere. Healthcare is world-class, though we strongly recommend travel insurance. Emergency numbers: Police 999, Ambulance 995. Note: chewing gum is banned and littering carries heavy fines.
The currency is the Singapore Dollar (SGD). 1 SGD is approximately 62–63 INR. Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard) are accepted virtually everywhere — from malls to hawker centres. Contactless payments and mobile wallets are widely used. ATMs are abundant. We recommend carrying a small amount of cash for older hawker stalls. Currency exchange is available at Changi Airport and throughout the city at competitive rates.
Singapore is a multicultural society that values cleanliness and order. Eating and drinking are prohibited on public transport (MRT). Jaywalking carries fines. Tipping is not customary — most restaurants include a 10% service charge. Dress is casual but modest at religious sites. The MRT (metro) is the most efficient way to get around. Grab (ride-hailing) is widely available. English is the primary language, making it very easy for Indian travelers to communicate.
